Julian, Anna D, Frances, Marion A national group, connected virtually, a more cohesive group enabling local YF groups to do things. We could be getting together all in person, more than once a year at YF camp. This could perhaps be three or four times a year (YF camp, SG, a couple of long weekends, maybe at the settlement once a year (Queens Birthday weekend?). If we are a Meeting it would be easier for us to budget over the course of a year in a coordinated way for travel and other expenses etc. (06/12/06)

Avon Although agreeing with all of the above, I would also note that the minute was not so much about becoming something different, but rather formalising something that already exists: a coherent and distinct group of Quakers called Young Friends. (06/19/06)

Leith Pugmire Yup . . . I'm with Avon there. I don't want this to be seen as a 'YFs finally pulling their socks up and doing something right' kinda thing lol. I think there's a risk of raising other Friends' expectations about what YFs will do . . . and a risk of alienating YFs if we start talking too much about being more involved or whatever :) (07/12/06)
